Do you struggle with thinking of new content weekly? Are you always trying to figure out how to have related content that will drive your readers back for more in the future? Feel like you’re on a crazy train trying to get out your next post?
If you said yes to any of theses questions, I have a solution for you!
Start creating content in batches. Batching content allows you to create multiple posts over a period of time. The process may seem overwhelming at first, but I guarantee once you get the hang of it, it will become part of your blogging mainstay.
I’ve even got a handy free workbook and emailed mini-course to help you figure this all out. You can snag it at the end of this post!
Creating blogging batch content is an amazing strategy that will help you gain organic traffic, increase your productivity and help you to stay sane!
Help You to Organize Your Content Ideas More Effectively
Here’s what happens if I don’t have a plan in place. I get started on something I’m excited about , then I’ll think about a new post or idea for my blog , and then I’ll start writing like a maniac.
But, if you are anything like me, you’ll be working along and then something “shiny” will set your mind into a whole different tailspin (and you were probably already on one
I find that when I create batch content, it allows my brain to focus on individual tasks for three solid weeks at a time instead of fretting over the next post or jumping to the next shiny thing.
So the first thing I do is get myself organized. I use my WordPress dashboard to first organize my draft thoughts and then place them into the calendar by dragging and dropping them into the spot I think makes the most sense.
Because I use themes to roll out my content each month, I can easily come up with topics to write about that fit those themes naturally. For instance, if you write about family life as a niche, you might choose going back to school as a theme for the month.
Then you can dig into this a little further and create four blog topics to write about. This might be getting the kids prepared for their first week of school, quick and healthy lunches, helping your kids to transition to a new school, how to stay organized in the mornings etc.
Doing this makes it easy to plan out content that makes sense to your blog and your readers.
Never be Without Content
Google loves consistency in posting. If you go crazy and post 20 posts in one month and then nothing for 6 months, you will be seen as inconsistent.
Google algorithms would rather you post once a week for 20 weeks and be consistent. So it’s really important to have a constant flow of new material coming out of your blog on a regular basis.
By using batch content creation, you can make sure that you are posting consistently and you will have an overview of what you are going to be posting about in the future.
Creating Batch Content is Great for SEO
Planning out your post content for a month at a time will help you to rank higher in Google SEO.
I have read numerous reports that show that creating themed content, or content that is related over a period of time is great for ranking better in Google.
The reason- Google likes to find content that shows that the writer has some authority or has a good understanding of what they are writing. If you are consistently writing about similar topics, Google will see you as an authority in your niche and rank you higher than someone who is posting all over the place.
This is another reason why defining your niche early on may be beneficial to growing your blog faster and creating more organic traffic.
Increase Time Management & Productivity
Aside from giving my brain time to adjust and think straight, creating batch content allows more time for specific marketing and other projects.
Once I have my month of content ready to roll, I use Coschedule to schedule all of my social shares in place, including adding it to evergreen content
All I need to do is daily social sharing and marketing for each post, which only takes about 20 minutes each day. This frees up my time to do other things like work on my own saleable content and learning new ways to improve my blog through courses.
By the time it’s time to start another round, I feel refreshed and ready to write new content.
Creates Easy Opportunities for Internal Links
Have you ever written a post and then
Internal links create an opportunity for you to share with your readers and with Google that you are an authority on this subject. This can also help your SEO as you will rank higher for keywords and gain more traffic.
If you have set up a schedule of related posts, all you need to figure out is the first one. Because each should build on the last, it’s easy to link back to others, keeping readers interested in your content and hanging around longer.
Can Help Segue Into a Killer Opt-in
My goal at the end of each set of posts is to be able to create a desireable
It provides value for my readers, content for my resource library and builds credibility as an authority in my niche. I always believe in underpromising and overdelivering whenever I can.
Many times, I can use bits and pieces compiled from what I have already
As always, great article Sasha! I have the same problem.. I keep a running list of topics then LOOk A SQUIRREL.. work on something completly different.
This is great advice, thanks.
Bahahaaaa!! I totally know what you’re talking about!!! Gotta keep myself away from “shiny”. Lol Thank you for the great comment :).
Sasha, you continue to amaze me. I learn something new from every post you write. Thank you for all of your help. I look forward to working on your mini course.
I’m so glad you found this helpful Wendy!! Its a revamp from the first time we did it… I hope it can help you!
In a weird way, I am actually doing this right now while we are in our second ever Blog-vember. We are posting 3 pieces of content a day—a video, a podcast, and a blog post—for 30 days. I came with an awesome and relatively easy way to crank out the video (that also becomes a podcast), but I wanted to solidify our authority in our niche and so I am focusing on topics that are catered to our target market. The best part about that is that, like you’ve said, I can bundle some of that content and even offer as an opt in at the end of these posts when the month is over. Thanks for confirming that my plan wasn’t crazy after all! ?
Totally not crazy at all! But WOW! Three pieces of content a day! That’s incredible! I would love to know how you turn your videos into podcasts. I do lots of video tutorials as well as that would be a great alternate platform. Have an amazing day!
I use GarageBand to pull in the video file, then remove the video portion and export it as an mp3 before I upload it to SoundCloud (which is my host). It’s super easy. The only other step is creating a separate podcast episode graphic to go with each episode. Thanks, again, for some cool productivity ideas!
Thanks for the tips!! I’m going to have to try that out!!
I have never tried batch contenting but I love the idea, I actually feel like it would work really well for me!
Well if you give it a try Rachel, you’ll have to let me know how it goes! I’d love to hear it!
So going to try this. I’m definitely that girl that is easily distracted.
I hear ya! I’d love to hear how it goes for you! 😉
I need to try this strategy! I’m struggling at the moment to link my posts together. Think I’m being a bit random and all over so I’m going to sit down and come up with a batching plan for the next couple of months. Great advice, thank you ?
No problem Alison! It does work really well for me. Hope it can help sort you out too! Have a great day!
Great post, I love every bit of the time spent reading this post. Thank you so much for this information, sometimes I find myself writing different topics and not concentrating on the same topic.

I’ll be getting this plug-in. Thank you for the suggestion and demo. This is my first year blogging and the plan is to spend time over the holidays REALLY planning for 2019 instead of just Newbie winging it. ?
Great plan Kay!! I have been thinking about leaving out all my 2019 content too 🙂
I like writing theme posts or posts that are similar. I never realized how it could impact my ranking. Thanks for the tips!
You’re welcome Lanae!
Hey Sasha
Thank you for sharing these timely tips on content batch creation. This is one of the most important tasks I set for my self-moving forward. I focus on creating longer quality content but due to limited time and spreading my self-thin over so many projects I have been falling behind on publishing new content on my blog. I know it is something I must do. I will definitely start to produce them in batches as I do for my Pinterest pins. Hopefully, it will allow me to save time, be more productive and deliver fresh content to my readers more frequently. Best wishes
I think you’re going to really love it! It does save me so much time and I feel so less frequently frantic when I’m doing it. Please let me know how it goes for you! I’d love to hear!
I need to try this! I usually post twice a week and I think batch creation would fit nicely with my posting schedule. Saving this article for future reference too! Thank you.
You’re welcome, Shirley! The course is meant to give you one post per week but you could definitely scale it up!
